As the liaison between my boss and our team, I have found that re-iterating/summarizing what I have just been told to be an imperative practice that mitigates so much confusion. I worked for the Colorado Judicial Branch for several years and, during that time, I had a very specific role. However, each role in my dept. was integral to the function of the others. I gained the most expertise during my time there by being open to doing jobs that were not exactly within my position description. Instead of having a "that's not my job" attitude, I kept my hands open to working in different roles when needed. Through those opportunities, I was provided with a deeper understanding of my own role and became a better team member. I also took every training that was offered to me, often seeking out learning opportunities and soon, I had newer team members coming to me for advice and direction
