Verify the assignment instructions for its completeness and clarity. Also verify the frequency of communication and any lack in collaboration. Discuss with the team members for their feedback. Find the root cause of the ineffectiveness.
The second step to deal with ineffective delegation is to address the issues and take corrective actions. Depending on the causes and the severity of the problem, you might need to redefine or reassign tasks or roles, clarify or revise expectations and objectives, provide more or less guidance, trust team members more or less, or adjust your level of involvement or oversight.
