With less than three months to go before the opening of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, the conditions of this global event are finally taking shape. But does the reality of the Games match the promises made when Paris submitted its bid eight years ago? Public transport, for example, which was supposed to be free of charge for competition ticket holders, will on the whole be more expensive during the competition period. Several metro lines, which were due to be extended or opened to traffic, will also not be ready until after the Games.
