Hi there,

I understand you're frustrated that your Nest thermostat isn't controlling your HVAC system furnace, AC, and fan. Let's work together to fix it.

First, check if your Nest thermostat is receiving power. Ensure the display is on and responds to touches. If not, try charging the base with the provided USB cable. Low battery can sometimes affect system function.

Some Nest thermostats require a C-wire for continuous power. Check your wiring and see if a C-wire is connected on both the thermostat and the HVAC system. If not, consult an HVAC professional for proper installation. We can also refer to this help article to verify if your Nest thermostat wiring is correct.

Keep me posted!

Ivan

Found out mine is actually gen 2 - and I keep getting it connected to the internet and it looks good and then it resets or either starts heating instead of cooling.  Went and bought the cheaper one just to get a thermostat working and it needs the power C thing - I’m out of town for work and can’t deal with it until I get back home
