Nest subscription charges increase? Just open a BBB case for tracking and chargeback

Creating this so when people google the keywords they can find this. If your Nest Subscription increased by more than 50% from $50 to $80 and it was automatically taken out of your card as you may have had autopay set for the $50 price, open a chargeback claim with your card and submit all evidence of your past charges and new higher charge to BBB so tracking and a history can be developed. It's on the very edges of "grey" business practices. For me it's more so the principal that when I requested a full refund or a fair discount I was suggested to upgrade to the $150 plan....for one doorbell. Customer service was laughable and can't wait to post the video to my followers of the transcript conversation. Just be safe everyone. It's tough times and companies trying to get over on their older customers who can't keep up with this stuff is absolutely in the wrong. Have a good one everybody!

Brother. I agree. Dang shame. Reminder that BBB will keep a record of all the support screenshots as well that you submit.

Google Nest DID notify us by email on Sept. 1, 2023 that our Nest Aware subscriptions would be increasing effective on our next bill that occurred on or after Nov. 6, 2023. Our price increase will not kick in until June 2024 when our annual subscription renews.

The price increases were noticeably greater for 1st gen Nest Aware subscriptions. Google Nest has been trying since 2019 to get us all to move to the 2nd gen Nest Aware subscriptions.

Google Nest CAN be faulted for not offering a subscription plan that's reasonable for customers who have just 1-3 cameras and doorbells. The pricing for the 2nd gen Nest Aware and Nest Aware Plus subscriptions work for customers who have multiple cameras and doorbells. We upgraded to Nest Aware Plus in 2020 when we added a third camera because it was cheaper than the old 1st gen per-camera subscription.

I'm just another Google Nest customer, and happen to be an "older customer".

So happy they sent me one notification on email of a more than 50% price increase. Such a great company
