1. Head to the calmer side of the internet

When you’re feeling worried or sad, you might also feel stressed and anxious.

Sometimes we need to take a deep breath and relax.

There are lots of places online that you can visit when you’re feeling this way.

You can find relaxing sounds – like waves or the rainforest - beautiful images of landscapes, or even 5-minute mindfulness exercises.

2. Make a happy playlist

Music is great for boosting your mood and energising your body.

When you’re feeling down, you can search online for positive playlists, or even create your own.

This will help direct your mind from negative thinking; focus on enjoying your favourite artists, lyrics and videos.

3. Chill in your happy place

Don’t be afraid to waste some time on silly stuff – you can’t be busy 24/7!

How about doing an online quiz or watching your favourite videos of puppies and kittens?

What about bingeing your favourite vloggers, or rewatching old episodes of the best television shows?

Taking time out in your online happy place will help you relax, cheer you up and clear your mind.

4. Express yourself

You might not always want to share how you are feeling with others but it is important to find a way to express your emotions.

This could be as small as scribbling angrily on a piece of paper, or typing a note on your phone to describe how you’re feeling.

What is most important is getting your feelings out of your head and into the real world.

5. Reach out

Even if it’s hard, you should try talking to someone about your feelings and what’s getting you down.

There are lots of different ways to start a conversation, whether it’s face-to-face, on the phone, or on Messenger.

Everyone needs to connect with someone.

Whether online or offline, how you feel is important. Keep checking in and be kind to yourself as well as others.
