• When you test a beta app, your crash logs and usage information will be automatically collected by Apple and shared with the Application Provider. This data may include your name and email address, and you will not be able to opt out of this collection.
• If you submit feedback about a beta app, this information will be collected by Apple and shared with the Application Provider and may be associated with your name and email address.
• The Application Provider may use your crash logs, usage information, and feedback to improve their App and related products. The Application Provider is not permitted to share this information with a third party.
• Apple may use your crash logs and usage information to improve the TestFlight app and to detect and prevent fraud.

The information collected by Apple and shared with the Application Provider when you use TestFlight includes the data fields listed below. If you accept an invitation to test a beta app through a public link only, your email address and name are not visible to the Application Provider.

• Email address: The email address with which you were invited to test the app. This may or may not be the same as the Apple ID associated with your device. If you were invited with a public link, this information is not displayed to the developer.
• Name: Your first and last name as entered by the developer when they invited you to test the app using your email address. If you were invited with a public link, this information does not display.
• Invitation Type: Whether you were invited by email or through a public link.
• Status: The status of your invitation. This can be Invited, Accepted, or Installed. This changes based on your status, and is refreshed when you accept or install a beta build.
• Installs: The number of times you’ve installed a beta app build.
• Sessions: The number of times you have used a beta app build.
• Crashes: The number of crashes per beta app build.

On iOS, visionOS, and macOS, when you send feedback from the TestFlight app or send crashes or screenshots from the beta app, the information collected by Apple and the Application Provider includes the data fields listed below. If your device is running iOS 12.4 or earlier, this information is collected only by the Application Provider. If your device is running iOS 13 or later, visionOS 1 or later, or macOS 12 or later, this information is collected by Apple and shared with the Application Provider. If you are using an older version of TestFlight and you email feedback directly to the Application Provider, this information will not be collected by Apple.

• App Name: The name of the app you are testing.
• App Version: The most recent version and build that you have access to. This is the number that displays under the app name in the list of apps in TestFlight.
• Installed App Version: The version and build you have installed on your device.
• Device: The model of your device and a device identifier.
• iOS, visionOS, or macOS Version: The version of iOS, visionOS, or macOS your device is running.
• Language: Your device language.
• Carrier: Your wireless service provider.
• Time zone: The time zone your device is set to.
• Architecture: The type of Central Processing Unit (CPU) for your device.
• Connection Type: Whether you were connected to Wi-Fi, cellular, or not connected at the time that the feedback was sent.
• Paired Apple Watch: If there is an Apple Watch app, the Apple Watch model and watchOS version are shared with the developer.

If your device is running iOS 13 or later, visionOS 1 or later, or macOS 12 or later, the following additional data fields will be collected by Apple and shared with the Application Provider.

• Screenshot: The screenshots you share when providing feedback.
• Comments: The comments you share when providing feedback.
• App uptime: The length of time the app was open and running at the time the feedback was sent.
• Disk Free: The amount of disk space you have available at the time the feedback was sent.
• Battery: Your battery level at the time the feedback was sent.
• Screen Resolution: The screen resolution of your device.
• Crash Log: Symbolicated crash logs. This includes information about how long the app was running before it crashed.

Apple retains beta app feedback for one year and may retain crash log and usage data until bugs are resolved. Apple uses the information to improve the TestFlight app and to detect and prevent fraud. Apple retains information about the beta apps you install, including the app name, platform, and OS version, as well as other details about the installation, for two years in order to support Apple’s analytics, accounting, reporting, and fraud detection. You should review the Application Provider’s privacy policy for information about how they will use and handle your data, and how long they will retain your data.

Applicable Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data

We process your personal data in TestFlight generally for performance of your contract with Apple, as necessary for providing the service, and to comply with our legal obligations. Where consent is the appropriate legal basis, we seek it in accordance with applicable local law.

Where applicable local law provides, we process personal data as necessary for purposes of our legitimate interests or those of a third party, in order to:

• Improve and optimize the TestFlight app for you and others
• Prevent fraud and other malicious activity
• Support Apple’s analytics, account, and reporting

The data used includes:

• Your name and email address, and information about your invitation to be a tester
• Information about the app you are testing
• Details about your device, and operating system
• Your crash logs and usage information

For more information about the Application Provider’s handling of your data, you should consult their privacy policy. For requests to access or delete your TestFlight data, you should contact the Application Provider directly.
