How do I add pictures to a post?

I’ve seen a bunch of topics with pictures in them.

How do I add images to a post? Do I have to upload them somehow?

There are many ways:

  1. Upload them via the upload button in the editor toolbar.

  2. Add a link to a remote image. Discourse will later download the remote image and convert it to a local image so it’s never lost.

  3. Copy and paste them into the editor.*

  4. Drag and drop them into the editor.*

* works in most modern browers.

Examples

  • You can drag and drop images into the editor, even multiple images. It works – try it!

  • You can paste images into the post composer using command+v or ctrl+v.

  • And of course you can click the Image button in the toolbar to upload an image file from your computer or device.

    The keyboard shortcut for the Image toolbar button is ctrl+k.

  • You can simply paste an image URL on a line by itself, like

    https://www.google.com/images/srpr/logo11w.png

And on mobile the upload button is in the lower right.

I have to admit that the copy and paste feature is my absolute favorite! Every time I visit another forum, I find myself trying to copy and paste images into a reply and I can’t… :frowning:
