Cast YouTube Kids videos to your TV

You can enjoy videos from the YouTube Kids app on your TV by connecting with a Chromecast, Apple TV, game console, or smart TV.

Watch with Apple TV

  1. Make sure that your iOS mobile device (iPhone or iPad) is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV.
  2. Open the YouTube Kids app on your iOS mobile device.
  3. While watching a video, tap the AirPlay icon .
    • The icon will only appear when your iOS mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV.
  4. From the pop-up, select the Apple TV device you want to play your video on.
  5. Once connected, you can start watching when the AirPlay icon turns blue .

Note: To use YouTube Kids with your Apple TV using AirPlay, make sure your Apple TV is running OS6+ and that you’re accessing the YouTube Kids app from an iOS device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch).

If your device is on iOS 14 or later, give YouTube permission to connect to streaming devices on your local network to cast to your TV. Learn how to allow local network access below.

Watch with Chromecast, game consoles, or smart TVs

  1. Make sure that your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast, game console, or smart TV.
  2. Open the YouTube Kids app on your mobile device.
  3. At the top of any page in the app, tap Cast .
    • The icon will only appear when your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your receiver.
  4. From the pop-up, select the Chromecast device, game console or smart TV you want to play your video on.
  5. Once connected, you can start watching when the Cast icon turns blue .
