Manage Shorts as a rights holder

These features are only available to partners who use YouTube Studio Content Manager.

When a creator makes a YouTube Short, they can add copyrighted music to the video using an in-product Shorts audio library. This Shorts audio library is populated with music tracks from record label partners that have signed Shorts specific licensing agreements with YouTube.

When a creator adds a song from the Shorts audio library to their Short using the Shorts creation tools, a special Content ID claim is created. These claims can’t be disputed, as they’re not visible to creators. The purpose of these claims is to provide a way for rights holders to identify and analyze use of their music in Shorts.

If a creator adds a song to their Short without using the Shorts creation tools, then these usages are eligible for standard copyright claims.
