Control your phone's camera with your watch

When you download the Google Camera app from the Play Store on your watch, you can control your phone’s camera with your watch remotely. Learn how to download apps on your watch.

Important:
  • This feature is only available on watches running OS Wear 2 and above.
  • The information below applies to Wear 3 and newer watches. It may vary depending on the version of your watch.
  • To use your Pixel Watch to control your phone's camera, you need to install the Google Camera app on both your watch and your Pixel or Android phone.

Take a photo

  1. If you can't find your watch screen, wake up the watch.
  2. To find your apps, swipe up.
  3. Tap Camera.
  4. To start the 3-second self-timer, in the center of the screen, press Shutter .

Zoom in & out

  • To zoom in: Move the slider up.
  • To zoom out: Move the slider down.

Turn off the self-timer

By default, the self-timer is set to 3 seconds. To change the self-timer mode,

  1. Tap the Menu.
  2. Tap the Timer .
  3. Select 3 seconds, 10 seconds, or off.

Switch cameras

To switch between the front and back camera,

  1. Tap the Menu.
  2. Tap Camera.
