Understand Google apps in Google Kids Space

In Google Kids Space, your child can get some apps, like Chrome and Drive, while others, like Assistant, aren't available.

Set time limits, block, or allow apps

Important: When you change the settings in Family Link, your changes are reflected across Google products.

  1. On your device, open the Family Link app Family Link.
  2. Select your child.
  3. Tap App limits.
  4. Select the app you want to manage.
  5. Tap Block, Set limit, or Always allow.

Use Chrome & Google Search in Google Kids Space

You can decide whether to let your child use Google Chrome and set content restrictions in Google Kids Space either during setup, or any time with the Family Link app.

You can also turn off Google Search from Family Link or block Chrome when you review pre-installed apps during device setup.

If you decide to block Chrome after device setup, you can do this from settings through Family Link.

Tip: Using Chrome settings in Family Link, you can select one of the following options:

  • Only allow approved sites
  • Allow sites with SafeSearch
  • Allow all sites
