Block app install ads

This information is for AdMob users only. AdMob is a mobile app advertising platform for app developers. If you don't have an AdMob account, we recommend you:

In AdMob, you can prevent app install ads (also known as "click-to-download" ads) and app re-engagement ads for specific apps from showing up by using blocking controls.

Blocking app install ads is only available for the Google Play and App store, and this filter doesn't apply to other types of ads, such as click-to-web ads or click-to-app ads via third-party tracking URLs.

App-level blocking

  1. Sign in to your AdMob account at https://apps.admob.com.
  2. Click Apps in the sidebar.
  3. Select the name of your app. If you can't find it in the list of recent apps, you can click View all apps to search a list of all of the apps you've added to AdMob.
  4. Click Blocking controls under the name of your app in the sidebar.
  5. Click Manage App install ads.
  6. Enter the name of the app, the developer, or the app ID you want to block in the search bar. Then, click Search.
  7. Use the controls on the page to allow or block categories. App install ads from blocked apps should stop showing in your app within 24 hours.

Account-level blocking

  1. Sign in to your AdMob account at https://apps.admob.com.
  2. Click Blocking controls in the sidebar.
  3. Click Manage App install ads.
  4. Enter the name of the app, the developer, or the app ID you want to block in the search bar. Then, click Search.
  5. Use the controls on the page to allow or block categories. App install ads from blocked apps should stop showing in your app within 24 hours.
The maximum number of apps you can block is 500 for all of your apps and your account.

For example, if you block 5 apps at the account level, and an additional 50 at the app level, then you've blocked 55 of your 500 limit.
