I grew up on Motley Crue. I still Shout At The Devil. I could not put this book down. As someone that was around that particular scene in Hollywood, this book brought back fond memories of that era. Going to the Whiskey, sitting on the wall at Gazzari's, the Roxy, The Rainbow Bar and Grill...Good times, and it was not uncommon to see the Crue in a booth at the Rainbow. This book explores their origins, their meteoric rise to fame, and the pitfalls that come with success. The Dirt is a comedy and a tragedy. There are chapters in this book that made me laugh uncontrollably and chapters that made me incredibly sad. After all the booze and drugs, I'm frankly surprised they are all still alive. I really enjoyed this book and I appreciated some of Nikki Sixx's life lessons...one being, never date a girl with a lazy eye. LOL!!! I highly recommend this book even if you aren't a Crue fan. It's highly entertaining.

Big Crue fan here- back to the days of Toast of the Town/Stick to Your Guns. I just got around to reading this book because I heard about the new Netflix movie and decided to read this before watching the show. This is an exciting book about four guys who probably should all be dead by now! They go through ups and downs like the rest of us, but their ups are REALLY high and their lows are lower than you could ever imagine. If you like Crue, you'll enjoy this book. If you're not a fan, you might just end up one if you're not careful!

Great book. I feel like Nikki pretty much narrated the book even if it wasn't supposed to be that way. It worked though because he was deeper into the lifestyle than the others, and he was the most objective; and able to see the big picture better than the others involved.

Born Frank Feranna, Nikki Sixx grew up in Seattle and moved to Los Angeles at the age of seventeen.
