Overall, I am really enjoying this series, but there are a few things I don't like. I don't like that the author has involved Arthur and Luther Pendragon is his story. I can't get too upset but since they are part of historical mythology. But the very Entish description of the tree people was unnecessary. That belongs to one author and one author only. What I absolutely do not like are the characters of Nyeave and Egwene. They are shallow and petty and actually, rather stupid. It is inconceivable that these two women should have such hatred and arrogance towards the Aes Sedai, given that the Aes Desai never did one bad thing to them ever. The fact that he continues to write them as hate filled is is ridiculous. Not to mention all the ridiculous conclusion jumping they do, without ever asking the people they make assumptions about one single question. Half the time I am tempted just to thumb past anything that involves them because I find them so annoying. Other than that, I'm hooked.

I've not finished it yet and I'm sure it's all for character development but I'm tired reading about Nynaeve and her garbage. This book is seemingly all about her and there are so many more character arcs going on that haven't even been touched on our not touched on enough.

Perrin has no plot in this volume, but that is only a minor point. He will make up for it in other volumes. By the end of the book you realize just how memorable this particular episode is, particularly regarding Moiraine, Rand's connection to the three Min viewed, the development of the Tower in Exile, and the battle at the palace at Caemlyn. Wow!!! If only all the books in the series could have ended with this much of a bang.
