About this ebook

Collects Chew Vol. 1 #1-5! Tony Chu is a detective with a secret. A weird secret. Tony Chu is Cibopathic, which means he gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats. It also means he's a hell of a detective, as long as he doesn't mind nibbling on the corpse of a murder victim to figure out whodunit, and why. He's been brought on by the Special Crimes Division of the FDA, the most powerful law enforcement agency on the planet, to investigate their strangest, sickest, and most bizarre cases.

One of the most original story lines you will ever read in a comic book. Tony Chu is a cibopath. A Cibopath can take a bite from anything and get a psychic sensation of what has happened to that object (strangely, this does not work with beets, however, the only such food from which he can get no sensation). I have been reading this since issue #1, and it has never flagged or waned. Stick with this one, it starts getting super wild about 10-12 issues in. Amazing artwork, and a storyline that continues to amaze and shock. Highly recommended comic book. The trade paperback collections (like this one) make it easy to catch up quickly without needing to read single issues.

Absolutely compelling dystopian world, post-avian-bird-flu-apocalypse. Chu is forced to use his gift to get to the meat of the biggest global conspiracy humankind has known. Or not. You'll get your pound if flesh reading this excellent comic. (Easy to read on my Galaxy Note 2.) Now leave me alone. I'm off to buy volume 2.

I attempted to describe this series to my wife...a special agent with the pre-cognitive power to see the past of something he eats. She could not see how it was going to be good. But it IS. Its disgusting and engrossing all at the same time . I enjoyed every minute of it...I simply ate it up. I'm now voraciously tearing into the rest of the series. If you like dark comedies with a penchant for the macabre, snappy dialogue, and aren't the squeamish sort i highly recommend this series.
