About this ebook

THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Elvis Presley’s fiancée and last love tells her story and sets the record straight in this deeply personal memoir that reveals what really happened in the final years of the King of Rock n' Roll.

Elvis Presley and Graceland were fixtures in Ginger Alden’s life; after all, she was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. But she had no idea that she would play a part in that enduring legacy. For more than three decades Ginger has held the truth of their relationship close to her heart. Now she shares her unique story…

In her own words, Ginger details their whirlwind romance—from first kiss to his stunning proposal of marriage. And for the very first time, she talks about the devastating end of it all and the fifty thousand mourners and reporters who descended on Graceland in 1977, exposing Ginger to the reality of living in the spotlight of a short yet immortal life.

Above it all, Ginger rescues Elvis from the hearsay, rumors, and tabloid speculations of his final year by shedding a frank yet personal light on a very public legend. From a unique and intimate perspective, she reveals the man—complicated, romantic, fallible, and human—behind the myth, a superstar worshipped by millions and loved by Ginger Alden.

While at Graceland,my daughter (16 & Elvis fan since seeing him perform Jailhouse Rock in a video at 8) received a text from a friend saying Elvis was this & that & she shouldn't waste her time. I told her my heart told me that was all wrong, but I had no evidence....Glad we read Ginger's book.Elvis was imperfect, human and like each of us, had flaws. Despite that, he had a huge one of a kind heart. He cared about others and Ms. Alden related personal experiences selflessly and honestly. Highly recommend!!

Good but some parts are very repetitious, almost boring. After reading this, Elvis & Me by Priscilla, and J.D. Summers" book, it's hard to say who was telling the truth about Elvis's relationship with Ginger. But Ginger did reveal a precious side of Elvis in his generosity the other books don't. It's just sad how some of the recipients took advantage of his kindness.

Loved reading, such honesty from Ginger, who has taken such criticism over the years. Thank you Ginger for sharing truth about Elvis to his fans. Im glad to hear he wasnt drugged out and depressed like other books and so called friends of his entourage said in their books about him. Thank you for such a wonderful tribute to the King of Rock and Roll!
