A very excentric journey into Singapore's elite out of the view of a Chinese-American sucessfull immigrant. With many backstories of relatives, complicated family relations down the golden surface and a very intense romance this book always remains unpredictable until the very end. Unlike the movie the book ends with a little sour taste.
