A RESEARCH-BACKED APP TO LEARN TO READ

Reading.com’s phonics-based lessons are backed by research and fully scripted so you don’t need any special training or knowledge to become the most powerful teacher your child will ever have.

This is the perfect reading app for kids in preschool, kindergarten, and 1st grade.

GO FROM LETTER RECOGNITION TO CONFIDENT READING

As your kid masters more letters, sounds, and words, they'll unlock a playful world of reading activities including interactive books, videos, reading games, and printable activities.

Thanks to simple guided instruction, you’ll not only experience your child mastering each phonics lesson, but will also foster a lifelong love of reading you can share together.

By lesson 10, your kid will be reading their first book!

THE MOST MEANINGFUL (TEAM)WORK OF YOUR LIFE

Each phonics lesson takes just 15 - 20 minutes to complete and they’re designed for you and your child to go at your own pace.

Lessons cover letters, letter blends, short & long vowel sounds, and digraphs, taking your child from basic alphabetic knowledge to reading at a late 1st grade/early 2nd grade level.

DISCOVER DETAILS OF OUR READING PROGRAM

1️⃣ LEARNING LETTERS
Your child will develop a strong foundation in letter recognition, letter-sound knowledge, and other pre-reading skills. You will guide them as they practice writing letters, develop phonemic awareness, and deepen their understanding of letter sounds through interactive games.

2️⃣ BLENDING LETTERS
In this phase, your kid will use their knowledge of letter-sounds to begin blending letters together to read words. Your child will become adept at using our sound sliders to support them in decoding words with short vowel sounds and both slow & fast consonants.

3️⃣ READING BOOKS
Once your child has a foundation in word-blending skills, it’s time to read books! Together you will read fun and engaging stories, reveal hidden pictures, and check for understanding by answering comprehension questions.

4️⃣ ADVANCED DECODING
In this phase, your kid will learn about long vowel sounds, digraphs, and irregular sight words, as well as how to approach common types of punctuation.

5️⃣ READING FLUENCY
In this final phase of reading development, your child will learn to read smoothly and accurately by expanding their sight word knowledge, vocabulary, and exposure to more complex text.

This app provides: easy steps and guidance for parents; fun and easy lessons for the kids, along with great reinforcement games/activities; the lessons aren't too long, nor too short... I could go on, I'm so impressed! I'm very confident this app will greatly assist our reading journey! I did the 7 day trial but knew almost immediately after our first lesson that we'd be paying for the subscription. Wish it could be a little cheaper, but in many ways, I can understand its worth.

Super engaging and fun app! It's great to work with young kids, or as a refresher for elem age. The lessons are short but interactive and my 3 year old loves it. As a teacher, I'd change some things- using the terms upper/lowercase instead of big/little, using "the letter spells the sound" instead of "says", and being more aware of pictures that go with letter sounds (elephant isn't the best representation for E since it has the sound L, not short e), updating some of that language= 5 stars

Thank you for your valuable feedback! 😊 We're delighted that your 3-year-old finds our app engaging and fun. As a teacher, your suggestions for using specific terms and improving picture-to-sound associations are duly noted. We appreciate your input, and it helps us enhance the learning experience for all users.

This is the the best learn to read app I have tried! My 5yo son is enjoying the lessons, and he did not enjoy the worksheets I had been doing with him previously. The lessons are designed in a way that we do them together, which I love, and the parent script guides me every step of the way so I know that I'm teaching him the right way. We saw results so quickly, and by lesson 10, he read his first book! 🙌
