Job Description

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for Eastern Europe cluster in alignment with Santen's overall goals and objectives
  • Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and potential risks within the cluster and devise strategies to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the competitiveness and profitability
  • Develop and manage budgets and MTP for the cluster, ensuring financial discipline and accountability
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth functioning, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the performance of each country and take corrective actions as needed
  • Implement best practices and standardized processes across countries to optimize resource utilization and enhance operational efficiency
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Country Managers and Function Leads, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills, capabilities, and performance
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing among different countries to drive synergy and alignment
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and employees, to ensure alignment and support for cluster objectives
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and take appropriate actions to optimize profitability and cost-effectiveness
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost reduction, and resource optimization
  • Ensure and promote compliance

Qualifications

  • University degree in business administration, management, medicine, science or a related field - Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • Seasoned leader with a proven track record of senior business leadership roles within reputable international pharmaceutical companies, with extensive experience spanning multiple countries in the Eastern Europe cluster
  • Demonstrated expertise in navigating complex regulatory environments, market dynamics, and cultural nuances across Eastern European countries within the pharmaceutical sector
  • Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including market trends, competitive landscape, and opportunities for growth and expansion within the Eastern Europe cluster
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with a history of successfully leading cross-functional teams and driving organizational performance in diverse multicultural settings
  • Experience in maneuvering within a matrix organization structure, adept at collaborating across functional lines and leveraging resources effectively to achieve strategic objectives
  • Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive business strategies tailored to the Eastern Europe cluster, including market entry strategies, product launches, and commercialization plans
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, healthcare professionals, and industry partners
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering business outcomes and driving sustainable growth and profitability within the Eastern Europe cluster
  • Adaptable and resilient, capable of leading teams through change and uncertainty while maintaining a focus on achieving long-term business goals in a dynamic and evolving market environment
  • Experience in Ophthalmology is considered a plus
