Artem Chigvintsev will miss Tuesday’s episode of Dancing with the Stars after testing positive for COVID-19.

The 41-year-old professional dancer announced his diagnosis on Instagram and shared that his partner Charity Lawson will dance with Ezra Sosa for the show’s Latin Night.

“So sad [to] announce but here it comes. I will not be performing with @charitylawson tonight on @dancingwiththestars due to Covid ( Covid sucks ),” he wrote. "But on a good news @charitylawson is still dancing tonight with amazing @ezra.sosa.”

He added: “They had a tough week Ezra stepped in like a champ and they have been working really hard this last couple of days so please give them all the love and support you can and Don’t Forget To Vote.”

Sosa responded in the comment section, writing, “Gonna do my best to make you proud Artem! 🫶🏻✨”

He also shared the “bad and good news” on his Instagram Story alongside photo of him and Charity at rehearsals.

“Good news I was able to step in, and will be performing w/ @charitylawson tonight on @dancingwiththestars!!!” he shared. “As exciting as I am for this opportunity I know situation is a tough one for partner, gonna be there with you every step of the way Charity, and gonna do my best to make Artem proud!!!! Let’s go!”

The official DWTS Instagram also confirmed the news, writing “Artem will not be dancing tonight due to COVID. Wishing him a quick recovery! ❤️ Charity will perform with Ezra for #LatinNight. #DWTS”

The former Bachelorette responded in the comment section, writing, “A duo if you ever seen what! Grateful for @ezra.sosa stepping in and getting the job done!!! Don’t miss tonight and make sure to VOTE for me!”

Fellow pro Emma Slater also showed her support, sharing, “Get well soon Artem ❤️ Ezra let’s gooooo!!!!! Can’t wait to see you and @charitylawson shine!”

The partner switch-up comes after Lawson and Chigvintsev topped the leaderboard on last week’s premiere episode. They danced the tango to Rihanna's "Only Girl in the World," and as judge Bruno Tonioli proclaimed immediately after their performance: “That was a tango stunner!”

Carrie Ann Inaba and Derek Hough agreed. In fact, Inaba was practically speechless, nearly cursing in excitement on air. “What week is it?!” she said with a laugh as Lawson's fiancé, Dotun Olubeko, beamed with pride in the audience.

"Exquisite," Hough said of the tango that earned the pair the highest score of the night.
