Jill Duggar Dillard Defends Herself After Getting Criticized for Killing Bee in Her Home

"Y'all, seriously?! If it's in my home it's trespassing!" wrote Jill (Duggar) Dillard, after revealing on Instagram that she killed three flying critters in a matter of two days

Jill (Duggar) Dillard could not bee-lieve the criticism she received after killing several flying insects in her home recently.

On Friday, the former Counting On star, 27, revealed that a wasp had entered her home, prompting her to whip out the fly swatter and kill the unwanted critter — and also a bee in the process.

Though Jill was proud of her accomplishment, she soon found herself defending her actions after her followers began criticizing her for killing the helpful insect.

“No, just no! I spent several minutes yesterday trying to kill a wasp that come into the house and in the meantime also killed a bee, then killed ANOTHER wasp today!” she explained on Instagram, along with photos of the dead bugs and Jill holding up a fly swatter.

The star — who shares sons Israel, 4, and Samuel, 20 months, with husband Derick Dillard — went on to describe the chaotic scene, sharing how Israel was “helping protect” Samuel, while Jill was simply wishing that her husband was there to kill the “flying stinging insect.”

“I HATE flying critters!!! Actually, I hate almost all bugs, but especially those that can actually do some harm…or look like they could!!” Jill wrote, before asking her followers, “Who else hates these things with a vengeance?! 😳😰🐝🦗🦟🕷🕸.”

Jill certainly did not get the response she initially anticipated, as her comments section quickly filled up with some followers attacking her for killing the bee.

“Don’t kill the 🐝 bees we need them to survive” wrote one follower, while another added, “Bees are precious and useful. Please don’t kill them.”

Some even offered suggestions of what Jill could’ve done differently in the situation writing, “Bees are so good for the environment, don’t kill them! Capture them in a cup and let them out, that’s what I do.”

Added another user: “Just open a door or window and let them out. Stop killing other living creatures. It is their world too.”

Finally, the former Counting On star had enough and spoke up about the incident in the comments section, noting that a prior negative bee experience was part of what led her to kill the insect.

“Y’all, seriously?! 🤔 If it’s in my home it’s trespassing!🚫” she wrote. “I do try to take most critters outside, but some I just don’t.”

“And I got stung by a bee once on my foot and was on crutches for 3 days!” she continued. “Literally had to crawl everywhere! No joke! Even had to use a little scooter to get around one day since my entire family was at a theme park for the day.”

“I’m not anti-bee, just don’t like them close to me! 🐝😁” she finished.

This wouldn’t be the first time that the Dillards have gotten people talking.

Last year, Jill’s husband Derick, 30, was fired from Counting On after making controversial comments on transgender identity. In the wake of the incident, Jill spoke out on Instagram and defended her own thoughts, writing, “To disagree doesn’t = hate, or judgement.”

“Love doesn’t always = approval,” continued Jill, who previously starred on TLC’s Counting On alongside multiple of her Duggar siblings. The Duggars, who are religiously conservative, have appeared on TLC since 2008.

“Just because I disagree with my child on something doesn’t mean I hate him, and just because I love and forgive him doesn’t mean I approve of everything he does,” she wrote. “You can be friends with, love and care for people you don’t agree with 100%.“

Jill and Derick tied the knot before a congregation of more than 1,000 family and friends at the Cross Church in Jill’s hometown of Springdale, Arkansas, in June 2014.

Since then, the duo has shared many of their date nights and sweet PDA moments on social media.

Most recently, the couple went on a date and snapped a photo together, where they appeared to be happy as ever.

“Love you @derickdillard #datenight 💕” Jill wrote.
