On April 8, Blanchard, 32, officially filed for divorce from Ryan Scott Anderson, 36, her husband of less than two years, PEOPLE confirmed. The separation news came from the former Munchausen by proxy victim, just three months after she was released from Missouri’s Chillicothe Correctional Center on parole in December after serving almost eight years of her sentence. Blanchard and Anderson, a Louisiana special education teacher, married in a 2022 ceremony while she was still in prison. Blanchard was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2016 after pleading guilty to murder for her role in the fatal stabbing of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, 48, in June 2015. As she said when she announced her split from Anderson on Facebook, “I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find… who I am.” Here's what Blanchard has been up to post-separation: Reconnecting with a former flame Shortly after Blanchard’s shocking split from Anderson, she was seen spending time with her ex-fiancé Ken Urker. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Urker's mother, Raina Williams, confirmed the two got lunch and went to a tattoo parlor in the days after Blanchard announced her split from Anderson. "They are not back together," Williams says. "They're very cool. Ken is just being a supportive friend to her and that's it." (Exclusive) Matching Tattoos Although Williams said Blanchard and Urker went to a tattoo parlor together, Blanchard's cousin, Bobby Pitre, who owns the parlor that the pair visited, confirmed to PEOPLE that the pair actually got matching tattoos. "It was matching Husky dog tattoos. A symbol for their strong bond," Pitre wrote in a text to PEOPLE. The two were engaged but split up while she was still in prison. (Blanchard told E! Online in 2019 that the pair became engaged in 2018.) In Blanchard's 2024 Lifetime docuseries The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, she revealed that she was still in contact with Urker in the weeks leading up to her wedding with Anderson, and she admitted to still having feelings for him. During a phone conversation between Anderson and Blanchard, she also reveals that she had a dream that she left Anderson for Urker, causing a fight between the couple at the time. She told PEOPLE about her plans a few days before her surgery. According to Blanchard's close friend Nadiya Vizier, the procedure is something she has been wanting for a while. "She said she's a bit nervous, but she's happy it's going to be done," Vizier tells PEOPLE. "The main thing is that she wanted a more feminine looking nose. She just wants to fix it up and give it a more feminine look." Afterwards, she told PEOPLE exclusively that the surgery "went great."
