Adam Carlson is the senior editor for human interest at PEOPLE, which he first joined in 2015. In this role, he oversees coverage of ordinary people doing extraordinary things and in extraordinary situations.

With 15 years' experience covering national and international news, Adam has reported from red carpets, federal court, the White House, the Olympics and beyond.

Previous roles at the magazine include staff editor on the crime team and digital politics editor. Before PEOPLE, Adam worked at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, ABC News and other outlets.

His reporting has been published in The New York Times, CNN and more. He has also published movie, TV and music criticism in Entertainment Weekly, Billboard, Time magazine and elsewhere.

An Atlanta native, he graduated from the University of Georgia with degrees in journalism and film.
