Maps imagery is offered in a variety of formats and zoom levels.

The maps render service provides user defined static maps tiles in a variety of formats including raster and vector formats including detailed road coverage, building footprints and point of interest. The Map tiles returned from this service can be integrated into mobile and web applications where accurate and fresh mapping data is essential.

Search

Convert addresses to latitude/longitude coordinates and vice-versa.

The search service allows you to look up and convert addresses to latitude/longitude and vice versa. It also allows you to search for the geographic outline of an area such as a city or country region. These search results can be used for a variety of use cases in combination with other mapping services.

Routing

Get directions, travel time and distance between multiple locations.

The route service provides information for a single or multiple routes including travel time and distance. The routing service makes it easy to select the best route for a single or multiple destinations within a set of custom parameters.

Real-Time traffic speed and incident data.

The traffic service provides real-time data on traffic flow and traffic incidents for a given area or route and presents this information as a map overlay. This data provides critical awareness of flow and incidents along a route that could affect routes, distance and travel time between locations.

Historical, real-time and forecasted weather data.

The weather service provides daily historical normal and actuals for any latitude/longitude while also providing real-time temperature, air quality, and storm information.   • It is built in collaboration with world-class location technology partners who provide the underlying location intelligence for maps, points of interest, traffic, imagery, weather and road data.

  • When you add an Azure Maps resource to your Azure Subscription you consent to our license restrictions. See licensing use rights and restrictions in the documentation at: licensing use rights. Azure Maps has consumption-based pricing and requires no upfront cost. Pay only for what you consume, and easily add your Azure Maps consumption to your existing Azure subscription or Enterprise Agreement.

  • Like other Azure features, you only pay for what you use. After looking at “Understanding Azure Maps Transactions, Go to the Azure Pricing calculator and enter the amounts of each API you think you will use and an estimate will be calculated for you.

  • Geocoding coverage varies by region and depends on the road data coverage and the precision of the geocoding service. See coverage details.
