The HELA Systems Private Limited (HELA), is an ‘Indian subsidiary’ of ELTA Systems Ltd. (a group and subsidiary of Israel Aerospace Industries). HELA provides full Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul product support as testing and technical services including annual maintenance contracts and supply of spares to Indian defense customers.

HELA is looking for an inspiring and dynamic Director - Finance to drive innovation and progress for the Indian government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat (Make in India) vision in developing and supporting advanced systems for India’s Armed Forces.

Key Responsibilities

The Director - Finance position is accountable for the financial and risk management operations of the company, which include continuous improvement of accounting and financial policies, metrics tied to the development of financial performance, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate and meaningful financial results.

Contract Management

  • Analysis of the terms of various business contracts. Articulating and preparing the contracts in terms of financials as per the business requirements.
  • Preparation RFPs and response to RFP queries. Participating and managing the entire bid process.
  • Customer interaction and presentation. Negotiating with customers on financials and business terms.

Financial Analysis, Accounting, Budgeting, And Forecasting

  • Establish finance operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, determining production, productivity, sales, quality, and customer service strategies, designing systems, accumulating resources, resolving problems, aligning incentives, and driving change.
  • Assess and evaluate the financial performance of an organization regarding long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts. Provide insight and recommendations for both short-term and long-term growth plans of the organization.
  • Perform regular detailed analytical reviews and make recommendations for improved financial performance. Create and establish yearly financial objectives that align with the company’s plan for growth and expansion.
  • Anticipate, define, and lead efforts to build infrastructure and strengthen accounting and financial management practices. Oversee the preparation and communication of financial statements and the month-end closing process. Presenting the financial reports to the CEO and the board of directors.
  • Planning and forecasting the project budget. Ensuring the project complies with financial regulations. Monitoring and reporting on the progress of the budget. Overseeing project cost management strategy and aligning with the organization's financial requirements keeping in mind CPI, WPI, the Concept of Price Index, Measuring Inflation, etc.
  • Select and engage consultants, auditors, and investors. Recruit, interview, and hire finance, accounting, and payroll staff as required.
  • Identify, acquire, and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information. Evaluate departments and make suggestions for automating processes and increasing working efficiency.
  • Lead a finance & account team. Determine accountabilities; communicate the organization's mission, values, policies, and procedures. Select, orient, train, coach, and motivate team members. Serve as mentor to team members, preparing the team for continued professional growth and future advancement within the organization.

Experience And Qualifications

  • 15+ years of leadership-level financial management experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably aerospace/defense/high-tech manufacturing).
  • Advanced degree or certification in MBA/ MS Finance/ CPA/ CMA/ CA. etc., from a reputed institution.
  • Preferred Aerospace/defense or high-tech manufacturing sector experience.
  • Government accounting understanding.
  • Full command of GAAP accounting, financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related issues.
  • Proven success at leading and managing professionals in finance/accounting, including team development and efficient deployment through practiced coaching and a people-focused management style.
  • Ability to partner with the CEO and other members of the executive team to drive the future direction of the company while bringing a unique point of view and expertise.
  • Ability to advise the CEO and executive team colleagues to ensure sound strategic financial decision-making, accounting and financial management procedures, financial controls, and compliance.
  • Advance Microsoft Excel, Dashboards, PPTs, Document drafting & Report-writing.
  • Demonstrated creative, critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication & presentation skills
