Learning and Engagement Officer, Hong Kong Palace Museum

The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) is a dedicated museum that showcases the exquisite artefacts from Palace Museum’s collections and collaborates with other museums in research, exhibitions, education and public programmes. The museum comprises 7,800 square metres of gallery space for standing and special exhibitions on Palace Museum’s collections of paintings, calligraphy, antiquities and historical objects, as well as thematic displays on world cultures and civilisations.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • assisting the Museum’s Learning and Engagement Team to support the development and implementation of school projects and museum learning programmes;
  • contributing to the research and development of educational content, such as exhibition learning content, teaching materials, training resources
  • contributing proactively and creatively to the engagement and partnership with schools, educational bodies and key stakeholders in the field ;
  • organising tours, workshops and programmes for students, teachers and relevant stakeholder groups; and
  • performing other duties as assigned by supervisor when deemed necessary.

You Should

  • possess a recognised university degree, preferably in education, history, arts, design, social sciences or equivalent;
  • preferably have 2 years of relevant experience in school and community programmes, youth engagement events and educational content development;
  • have strong skill in project management, research and content development, especially for promotional materials and educational resources;
  • be familiar with new technologies, including online and on-site digital learning platforms that facilitates discovery and learning of the Museum’s rich offerings;
  • be familiar with local school curriculum as stipulated by the Education Bureau;
  • be a collaborative team player and willing to work at weekends and holidays;
  • have excellent ability and proactive attitude to work under pressure and to meet deadlines and manage multiple complex educational projects concurrently;
  • have a strong network with school representatives and teachers would be an advantage; and
  • possess good interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills in both English and Chinese; knowledge of Cantonese and Putonghua is an advantage.
