Assistant Accountant

Key Responsibilities

Check DA and SOA as per company’s standard procedure within specific time frame
Check invoice amounts against tariff on the agreements
Verify the supporting documents and their legitimacy
Ensure the correct classification of the expenses
Finish checking and closing of SOA to meet quarterly closing
Update tariff to system as per agreements
Update and Maintain shipping cost in system
Provide quarterly refresh of shipping cost
Perform monthly checking of SOX
Identify any risk and provide recommendation to countries
Educate agencies to follow company rules and procedures
Monitor agencies’ cost picture to prevent un-expected cost happened
Solve the problems raised by the agencies
Monitor agencies’ submission to ensure they are able to meet the deadline of quarterly closing
Perform SOX compliance checking of agencies
Sharing of knowledge and information among the team members
Discussion of cases to enhance knowledge and expertise
Do ad hoc report as required
Provide cost saving initiatives
Perform monthly cost analysis report to record the errors of the agencies

Requirements:

Bachelor degree major in Accounting / Finance / Business or other related subjects
Fresh Graduates are also welcomed
Good command of written and spoken English
1-2 years accounting experience in shipping industry is highly preferable
Proficiency in MS office, especially Excel
Knowledge of SAP is a plus
Strong teamwork spirit, positive, hardworking and self-motivated with “Can Do” attitude
