I seem to be messing up, I'm sorry!

I went back into history and amended my commit message, and I pushed it, without realising it pushed all the work in my fork, losing the last 20 or so commits, could someone please guide me? I'm really lost.
I found the commit hash of my commit with
git reflog
and I amended it using
git commit --amend -m "new message"

Instead of rebasing to origin I pushed it directly, but I'm stuck and confused on how to fix this, can someone please help out?
