Know yourself and you will win all battles. Yes, its 100% true , because its your first step towards having realistic expectations from yourself as a coach . Knowing not only your strengths but weaknesses and triggers too, seeing clearly not only your prides but biases and fears too, help you design powerful strategies aligned to your goals .
-
This is a continuous process that goes on all throughout life. Get use to asking yourself questions. "How do I feel about that ?" "Do I agree with that ?" "Is this something that lights me up?" "What is motivating me to do( or not do) this ?" Questions are a great doorway ! Ask them often of yourself.

Self-awareness is key to career success in life coaching. Reflect on personal strengths, weaknesses, and values to align coaching style with authentic self. Recognize biases and blind spots to foster empathy and understanding with clients. Continuously seek feedback and self-assessment to refine coaching techniques and approaches. Embrace lifelong learning and personal growth to stay relevant in a dynamic field. By cultivating self-awareness, coaches can build trust, credibility, and effectiveness in helping clients achieve their goals.

Self-awareness allows coaches to recognize their own biases, beliefs, and limitations, enabling them to approach client interactions with empathy, openness, and authenticity. Self awareness and life coaching go hand in hand ... i would say, its the rite of passage ... if you haven't worked on yourself , this line of work isn't for you yet! Life coaching is based on the premise that you l provide your client a safe container , where they can express , emote and share freely ... to hold a space like that you need empathy, non judgement and understanding. Self Reflection is the primary tool to get you started on this journey, as some client sessions can be triggering in nature ... hold on your emotions and to be present at the same time comes with self awareness.

Developing emotional intelligence (EQ) is a natural extension of self-awareness, significantly enhancing your capabilities as a life coach. EQ involves recognizing, understanding, and managing your own emotions while also being attuned to the emotions of others. High EQ allows you to build stronger, more empathetic relationships with clients, fostering an environment of trust and openness. It equips you to handle difficult conversations and navigate the emotional complexities that often arise in coaching sessions. As you become more adept at managing your emotions, you also become better at reading and responding to your clients' emotional cues, thereby improving your ability to support their growth and transformation.
-
When providing services, EQ is super important. Here are a few ways to go about it: 1. Cultivate Active Listening Listen deeply, beyond words, to grasp the underlying emotions of your clients. This practice enriches your empathy and enhances session effectiveness. 2. Practice Self-Regulation Techniques Develop routines that help manage your emotions, such as meditation, journaling, breathwork. This strengthens your resilience and maintains clarity in coaching roles. 3. Set Clear Emotional Boundaries Define & maintain boundaries to protect your emotional well-being. It's essential for sustaining long-term professional health and avoiding burnout. Boosting EQ is crucial for deepening client relationships and safeguarding your mental health.
-
Being a life coach, I personally improved my EQ so that I can think and act from my clients perspective. Showing empathy towards other people is the most rewarding part as a life coach. When you have a high EQ, you can achieve that as well. This also helps you in personal and professional life to understand the people around you and yourself.

As you said, we often have the seeds of our true calling already planted within us, we just have to be willing to nurture them. It's all about that pivot - taking what we've learned and experienced, and channeling it into something more aligned with our values and purpose.
-
Take all parts of ourselves - the neat and the messy. Our emotions, intuitions, and inner voices are so important, even if society tells us to ignore them. Tapping into that deeper self-awareness is key to finding our true purpose and creating an authentic life.
-
Solicit feedback from peers, mentors, and supervisors to gain a better understanding of your performance and areas for improvement. Embrace constructive criticism as an opportunity for growth rather than viewing it as a threat. Actively seek out feedback on a regular basis to continuously refine your skills. Practical Tip: Schedule regular check-ins with trusted colleagues or mentors to receive feedback on your progress and development.
-
Inter Self-Awareness involves having a clear understanding of how others perceive you and feedback is a huge component of that. Many of us are allergic to critical feedback because we don't know how to receive it as it always feels like a personal attack against us. To grow your career, you'll have to learn how to gracefully accept feedback, both the good and the ugly. Critical feedback can illuminate the parts we need to work on and become better life coaches.

Really helpful to fully realize your ability to help as a coach. - I enjoy a pre-session framing / state creation exercise with a mantra and physical anchor - post-session reflection helps reinforce strengths and ID areas for improvement - regular mindfulness helps prepare for the unexpected: meditation and breathwork Being present and in control sets coaches up for being able to deliver their best during sessions.
-
Incorporate mindfulness practices into your daily routine to enhance self-awareness and focus. Set aside time each day for meditation, deep breathing exercises, or simply being present in the moment. Cultivate awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations without judgment. Practical Tip: Start and end each day with a brief mindfulness exercise to center yourself and set intentions for the day ahead.
-
Mindfulness is always a part of my coaching practice. Regardless of what we’re working on creating, I start each session with several minutes of breath work and body scanning , done by my client. It’s a great way to get grounded quickly and if necessary I add some reiki to the mix. It may seem like a lot, but that ten minutes of mindfulness in a 45 minute session, reaps a huge harvest of creativity and inspiration , not just for the client but for me. You only get as good as you give, and my goal is to always create a loop of energy that’s moving fluidly and openly!
-
By incorporating mindfulness techniques such as meditation, focused breathing, or reflective journaling into your routine, you enhance your ability to stay centered and present during coaching sessions. This presence allows you to listen more intently, respond more thoughtfully, and connect more deeply with your clients. Mindfulness helps reduce stress and prevents burnout, ensuring you maintain a clear and focused mind. As you model mindfulness for your clients, you not only improve your own practice but also inspire them to cultivate greater self-awareness and presence in their lives, leading to more effective and impactful coaching outcomes.

Wow, know self + continuous growth = celebrate self. It starts with awareness. It does not end there. I cannot say, this is me, take it or leave it. Awareness about talents, traits, personality type, behavior, thinking styles etc is step 1. Let us work on our strengths and make money. Build career and do wonders. Not so strong areas need to be balanced so that our whole brain is nurtured. We are holistic, ready to live life fully, heal, grow and glow. This is the power of coaching. A coach who makes it smooth with self discovery and encourages as the path to healing is not always easy. Happy healing.

So, being aware of your relative position can help you overcome career crisis much more easier.
