Amendment of quality control rules for plastic food contact materials (‘plastic FCM’)
COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) …/… amending Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food and amending Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practice for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food as regards recycled plastic and other matters related to quality control and manufacturing of plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.

- This Regulation amends Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 on plastic food contact materials to increase quality control, • aligning with Regulation (EU) 2022/1616 on recycled plastics and Reg. (EU) No 528/2012 on biocidal products; • introducing purity requirements for substances obtained from waste and natural materials; • adapting migration testing of multi-layer materials and repeat testing. It adds related rules on quality control to Reg. (EC) No 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practises
