What i will say here is that "Pain is temporary and pride is forever", remeber this because its not easy to take out time for upskilling when you are already in a job. If i amy be candid, its easier said then done. You have to motivate yourself by reminding yourself by dreaming what lies ahead when you finish learning new skills, the respect, the pay hike and so on. So just remember pain is temporary and pride is forever and give your best shot. Time will remain 24 hours only in a days cycle, you have to cut down many things you enjoy, your personal time etc to learn new skills, so motivate yourself every time you feel like giving up.

One of my Former Managers had this to suggest: - Take on learning something new as a hobby/personal project that is adjacent to your core skill-set. Preferably slightly out of your comfort-zone, but within your realm of interest. - Listen to the grapevine and find out if new ideas/platforms/technologies are gaining ground for your organization and drop some research into it. You May find out it is not a good fit for your organization. Finding out what won't work is just as good as finding out what does.
-
Learning new skills is great, but if you are highly competent in a specific set of skills, sometimes it may be better to further extend expertise in the areas you already specialize in.
-
What i will conclude by saying is that if you can align your office seniors/boss to your learning goals, it will make things much easier. Share your learning goals with your manager or colleagues, preferably explain to that their your upskilling will help the department/team, and seek their feedback and support. Consider finding a mentor at your office who can provide guidance, advice, and accountability as you work towards acquiring new IT skills. Try to get support from office, if done properly not only it will get you time but sometimes financial sponsorship as well.
