Rotten Tomatoes’ premiere dates calendar keeps track of the most anticipated new 2024 TV premieres and your favorite returning shows. Video game adaptations are enjoying something of a heyday at the moment, what with the critical and/or commercial success of titles like The Last of Us, Sonic the Hedgehog, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Fallout, but even fans of the long-running Japanese role-playing game franchise Like a Dragon (aka Yakuza) were caught off guard when, out of the blue, Prime Video announced a premiere date for a new live-action adaptation. The show, titled Like a Dragon: Yakuza, will focus on franchise stalwart character Kazuma Kiryu (played by Ryoma Takeuchi) and follow the events of his life in both 1995 and 2005. The first three episodes will drop on Prime Video on October 25, and the second three episodes on November 1.

Apple TV+’s multigenerational drama series Pachinko, based on the eponymous 2017 novel by Min Jin Lee, returns to the streamer on August 23. The multiple award-winning show was something of a surprise hit when it debuted in early 2022, earning a Certified Fresh 97% on the Tomatometer to go along with its 88%. Starring Oscar-winner Youn Yuh-Jung, Soji Arai, Jin Ha, and Shogun star Anna Sawai, among others, the story traces four generations of a Korean family who moved to Japan in 1915 to begin a new life.

Disney also held its upfront presentation on Tuesday, during which the studio announced that the WandaVision spin-off featuring Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness will debut on Disney+ with two episodes on September 18. The new series, which went through several title changes before landing on the best (in our opinion) and most obvious choice, Agatha All Along, will co-star Aubrey Plaza, Pattie LuPone, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Joe Lock, and Debra Jo Rupp and follow Agatha as she struggles to regain her powers after her defeat at the hands of Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff in WandaVision.

Another title that announced its premiere date during the Disney upfront presentation was Hulu’s mystery-comedy series Only Murders in the Building, which revealed that the upcoming fourth season will debut on on August 27, with episodes to release weekly thereafter. The new season will follow Selena Gomez’s Mabel, Steve Martin’s Charles, and Martin Short’s Oliver as they attempt to unravel the mystery behind a season 3 death and determine whether or not one of them was the actual target.
