A big improvement over previous releases, the new version of BitTorrent comes with a gorgeous interface and great performance. This is one of the best torrent apps around.

Pros

Beautiful minimal design: While many torrent apps are visually unappealing, BitTorrent catches the eye with its new streamlined and stylish looks. We love the round progress bars, the use of bright colors for buttons, and the different file icons that make it easier for you to selectively download the contents of a torrent.

Speedy: Downloading files with this app feels like you're really using all of your device's power to maximize the download speed. On our Nexus 7 used for testing, we were able to download movie torrents with at least 1MB/s as long as there were plenty of seeders.

Optimized: This torrent app doesn't slow down your device, drain the battery, or make your connection unusable. It runs smoothly and without lag or errors.

Cons

Lack of intuitive controls: Beautiful and accessible as it is, this app lacks support for swiping gestures, like some of its competitors, which means that you have to manually change tabs, if you want to show only downloaded or completed torrents. Still, this isn't a major issue since the All Torrents window differentiates between ongoing and finished downloads.

Lack of advanced settings: The settings panel is rather basic, enabling you to customize only download/upload limits and incoming port, and set Wi-Fi only or Auto-Start.

Bottom Line

BitTorrent looks great and can handle unlimited downloads at high speeds. It keeps things easy and doesn't require more taps than necessary. If you're a hardcore torrent downloader, however, you may want more settings to configure.
