One of the most-downloaded web browsers in the Google Play Store, the free UC Browser for Android includes data-saving and video-watching tools as well as live cricket updates and news.

Pros

Throwback to when a search engine was also a home page: The browser offers a wealth of customization that lets you set up the browser to display helpful information, from live cricket scores and news to a daily horoscope.

Focus on video: The browser categorizes video to help you browse through clips with ease and even lets you pop out the video player so you can keep browsing as a video plays.

Cons

May not be protecting your data and privacy: Several security firms and universities report the UC Browser may be leaking your data and otherwise violating your privacy. One security group, in particular identified "a series of major security and privacy issues in the English language and Chinese language editions of the Android version of UC Browser."

Google pulled the browser from its Play Store in the fall of 2017 for not being in line with its policies, the company said. The web browser was restored to the store later in the year.

Lots of ads: A frequent complaint in Google Play reviews for the browser is the app is overrun with ads.

Bottom Line
