    Sense stuck on Fitbit logo

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My sense shows the logo on the screen for 5-10 seconds, then disappears giving a black screen. Then 5-10 seconds later, the logo appears again. This cycle continues over and over.

Same.  Stuck in an infinite reboot loop since 5/5/24.   No holding/not holding/holding+releasing combo does anything.   I let the battery go completely flat and left flat for 12 hours now, but as soon as I put it on the charger it starts the reboot loop again.

Hi there, @Samomusician @ChadLRoss. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Sense devices are still stuck on the Fitbit logo. I where your concern is coming from, I will do my best to help you with this!

As our last resort, I'd recommend performing a factory reset on your Sense. Important: Take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account, your applications, alarms, etc.

With the above being said, please sync your Sense and then, proceed with the steps below in the order listed:

    1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
    2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
      1. Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
      2. Hold the button again until you feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates you initiated the factory reset.

You can follow the steps to set up the device after that: How do I set up my Fitbit device?

I frequently get this issue too. But after a while it seems to work again. But then every few weeks it starts doing this boot loop again at random. Really annoying.

This requires precision timing and may take a few tries to get.  Once you get into the loop, try the procedure:

The way to tell that it worked is that your Fitbit will actually chime and require you to reconnect it to Fitbit to update the software on it again.  I got it to work after about 4 tries.

    1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
    2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
      1. Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
      2. Hold the button again until you feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates you initiated the factory reset.

Did you get the Fitbit to change and ask for it to re-pair with your phone?  If it doesn't give you this, then you may have mistimed it.  Trust me, it is very annoying.  If it continues to be a pain, then the support team may be able to assist you.

I got exactly the same happened to me and about 5 or so hours ago.

This is the second time it happened. It restarts then on its own. Only started happening after it got acquired by Google. Once it starts working, I could see my sleep tracking. Had to turn off the watch etc ..seems that someone is trying to update the software and they didn't do a good job.

Fitbit was working fine all day. I put it on charger and now it does nothing.  I tried all of this and it doesn't work

Mine started this two days ago out of no where. Was working fine and then it started doing the endless loop. So frustrated.

It's about a month since my sense stopped working after running out of charge.  Must have had it a while since the offer to replace the ionic which always worked fine.  Just replaced the charger cable but it's no better. I don't even get the Fitbit logo any more. Occasionally I get a message that it's on 0% but otherwise nothing.  If I can't get it working I will look more carefully at the charging mechanism before buying another smart watch. Reading these messages the mechanism for the sense is clearly fundamentally flawed.

My thoughts are that you likely have a Sense that has the flawed firmware that they did at one point try to recall, but your Fitbit got stuck during the process and now it won't reset.  Many people have had to send theirs back and get a replacement unit because the reboot won't work for this.  Most likely you've got one of these impacted units with that firmware update.
