So with the fact that it's fully waterproof and tracks swimming do we know if it is ok to use in the sauna and steam room.
When I'm done at the gym I always hit the sauna, steam room and alternate these between periods swimming so it would be great if i didn't have to go back to my locker each time after swimming before going back into the health suite!

The fitbit safety notes say:
See: https://www.fitbit.com/uk/legal/safety-instructions
Not sure if anything has changed with the Ionic. We need a brave volunteer!

Thanks, Yeah I wouldn't have dreamed of using my charge 2 in there (although do remember reading people on here saying that they had and it was fine) but with the fact it is 50m water resistant and closed off I would expect it to be fine, but just worried about trying without knowing for sure!!

I wouldn't recommend it at all. Even if the device could survive, it would get hot very quickly and could possibly cause you burns. I once forgot to remove my gold necklace when I went into the sauna, it got very hot very quickly. Don't take the risk.

Here’s the tech specs -
Operating temperature: -10° to 60° C

Where do those numbers come from @SunsetRunner ?
Page 68 of the manual says: Operating Temperature 14° to 113° F (-10° to 45° C)
It may be that fitbit have inconsistent documentation that needs correcting.

I’ve used mine in a steam room.
I didn’t think it would be a problem and it seems ok, not sure if prolonged exposure or regular visits would affect it long term but might be best to remove it before to be safe.
I just popped on here to ask the same question with my Inspire HR

I’m not sure, can you contact Fitbit or where you purchased from?
which model do you have?
Ive just left the steam and sauna (20 min steam and 10 min sauna) wearing my Inspire HR and it appears fine.
Hard to use in the steam room due to moisture on the screen but works fine and seems ok.

I use my Ionic in the pool and sauna every week.
(As I have done with other watches before).
BUT:
I always wrap a wet small towel around my wrist and Ionic before I go in.
(I have a small towel to sit on, and another for potecting the Ionic)
Works fine, and saves me the trips back and forth to the locker.

I wore my Fitbit Charge 3 to the steam room and sauna yesterday. It started behaving crazy after that. It totally died overnight. I did nothing like this with the initial product I bought and yet it didn't even last me beyond 6 months. Customer Support couldn't fix it and they sent me a replacement product. This developed display problem (lost 2-pixel lines of the display) within just a few months of getting it and now, I killed it in the steam and sauna rooms. I'm not convinced that Fitbit devices are durable even for normal activities. I'm totally unimpressed with Fitbit and won't be buying another one.

Well, as mentioned above in this thread, fitbit do tell us not to wear the trackers in a sauna.

Completely agree with @SteveH here, you cannot blame Fitbit for your own negligence.

GretaDD, same thing happened to mine. It just doesn't survive that temperature.

I AM THE VOLUNTEER. I have been using fitbit versa in sauna and steam room and cold ice baths for around 3 months. Nothing happened to the watch. One thing i do though i cover my watch with other hand so it wouldnt get hot (i go to saunas with around 110 degrees celcius).
It is essential to me to go to sauna with a watch because i am tracking my pulse and when it reaches 140bpm i must go out to chill.

I’ve done the same, put it on the charger this morning and it got dangerously hot . Is this also the end for mine - Fitbit versa lite
