@9099887081- the recall is voluntary and unless you are unhappy with the Ionic and can find a suitable alternative as good, hang on to it, even though there may be a slight risk.

@Guy_ A voluntary recall means that Fitbit agrees with the US Consumer Products Safety Commission, not that the option is "voluntary" on the end user's part. The CPSC can also issue a mandatory recall. It's in a company's best interest to issue a voluntary recall. A mandatory recall is bad for business.
Anyone still using an Ionic should start looking for an alternative. Fitbit recalled a different device a few years ago. That device was decommissioned about a year later. Fitbit hasn't announced it, but I bet it's coming soon

The user does have a choice, they can or don't have to. The problem is, that after 4 - 5 years, a few of the batteries have gotten very hot and a few wrists have been burnt.
Eventually fitbit may decide to disable this model.
Like @LZeeW States above, it is Fitbit, not the user, who voluntarily recalled the unit.
The previous unit was recalled because of the nickel within the stainless steel. Fitbit then followed the more strict EU standards for medical grade Stainless Steel.

@Daneejow are you saying that you can not unlock the fitbit app on your phone.
Or that you can not unlock the tracker,
Open the fitbit app.
Tap the top left corner
Tap your Ionic
Scroll to the bottom.
Tap device lock.
What is fitbit asking you? I believe you need to enter your phones unlock code.

You want to look for the Device lock. Then setup a new code.
