Pacific Coastal Airlines is seeking a temporary full time Communications & Content Coordinator to be based at our headquarters in Richmond, BC at South Terminal of the Vancouver International Airport with the option to work hybrid. We are seeking a candidate who is looking to enjoy a family-oriented, dynamic and rewarding work environment. This position reports to the Vice President, Customer & Commercial. The Communications & Content Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of corporate communications that support our organizations vision, values and strategic goals. This position supports various communication plans and strategies which include campaigns, storytelling, internal communications and the promotion of company programs and employee engagement efforts across all social media channels.

This is position is a 24-month term.

Job Responsibilities

Employee Communication and Engagement

  • Support celebrating employee events to recognize important milestones and key achievements of the airline
  • Support Employee Services with event planning and provide a presence at functions for purpose of reporting to all employees
  • Manage archive of corporate photographs, key milestones, events and timeline history
  • Support Employee Services efforts of new employee recruitment by posting key positions to social media and supporting their recruitment campaigns

Social Media

  • Responsible for the management of all social media channels including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok
  • Accountable for the security of these platforms and ensuring that only approved content is distributed via these platforms
  • Produce engaging external content for our customers to keep them informed of changes at our organization through written copy, photographs and video

Brand

  • Maintain the brand standards guide and library
  • Provide brand management education to internal stakeholders to help reinforce the standards
  • Ensure that any changes to brand standards are documented and rolled out throughout the organization for easy adoption
  • Ensure that departmental branded bulletin, memo, and directive remain updated and accessible to departmental leaders

Content

  • Create and distribute relevant, compelling content to targeted stakeholders throughout select mediums including email, blog, newsletters, social media and website
  • Manage “The Weekly” by populating with engaging content about our company to be shared with all staff internally
  • Publish engaging content to our website’s blog
  • Source and/or produce photos and video to support content
  • Serve as corporate photographer

Company Intranet

  • Responsible for maintaining company intranet platform
  • Assist in development of intranet content and document libraries for intranet
  • Collaboratively work with Employee Services and departmental leaders to ensure that our intranet effectively communicates organizational changes and news

Media Relations & Reputation Management

  • Monit or media channels and respond/forward all appropriate media requests to spokesperson
  • Protect and enhance the corporate brand by correcting inaccurate comments or statements and by seeking opportunities to inform key stakeholders and public about the company, its history and its commitment to people and communities

Departmental Communications Support

  • Support departmental leaders by providing awareness, training, and access to various communications mediums, tactics and technology to help them develop and improve communication within their department

  • Safety – actively participate in Pacific Coastal Airlines’ Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operation, and comply and promote the company safety policy and safety culture
  • Complete other assignments and tasks as assigned
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in communications, journalism or marketing, or suitable combination of education and experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in corporate communications at 50+ staff organization
  • Previous experience within the commercial aviation industry is preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to effectively communicate in various delivery methods/platforms
  • Strong social media skills and storytelling abilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Adobe creative software tools
  • Experience with Canva is preferred
  • Photography and videography production skills preferred
  • Work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with focus on teamwork
  • Intermediate proficiency MS Office (Word, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Maintain high level of professional standards at all time
  • Creative, adaptable to change in an evolving environment
  • Balance multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Highly motivated, energetic, and goal-oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
