Eufy S1 Pro Robo-Mop Cleans Itself As It Works

The robot vacuum and mop hybrid takes a unique approach to scrubbing stains and has an impressive list of vacuum features as well.

Most high-end robot mops that we’ve tested do a decent job of scrubbing floors, but still fall short of manual labor with a little elbow grease. The Eufy S1 Pro Robotic Vacuum and Mop looks to close that gap.

With a Kickstarter campaign launching March 28 and slated for a May release, the robot features a rolling mop head that applies downward pressure, spins at 170 rpm, and uses air pressure to keep itself clean as it mops.

The wide mop head collects dirt on the downward side, and then as it rotates through the inner chamber, the dirt is whisked away into a dirty water reservoir contained in the vacuum. More clean water is applied, and it spins again. The concept certainly looks promising, and the S1 Pro will lift the mop 0.47 inches off the ground to avoid wetting carpet as it vacuums, so it can do both tasks at once.

Its base station will empty the dust bin and dirty water container, refill the clean water tank, wash the mop, and then use air at 131 degrees Fahrenheit to dry the mop. Most of that is standard fare for high-end robot vacuum and mop hybrids, but the S1 Pro will also use ozone to sanitize everything. Using ozone as a cleaner potentially comes with some environmental downsides, but according to a Eufy representative via email, "it has been tested in the TÜV Rheinland laboratory based on the IEC and UL standards, and passed all tests related to radiation, safety and environmental protection."

The vacuum itself uses 8,000Pa of suction to clean, which matches the power of our top model. The base station can hold dirt for up to 68 days, compared with 60 for most other self-emptying models. It uses LiDAR, an RGB cam, and AI processing to recognize and avoid obstacles as it maps and navigates through your place.

It generally checks the boxes you’d expect for a high-end model, including the lofty price. The Eufy S1 Pro will retail for $1,499. You can get discounts by preordering via Kickstarter.

We’ll be sure to test the Eufy S1 Pro once it hits shelves in May to see if the new mopping tech pays off. In the meantime, check out all of our current favorite robot mops.
