Help (RED) end AIDS
Together, we’ve raised over a quarter of a billion dollars. We must keep fighting.
For 19 years, Apple and (RED) have been committed to fighting AIDS through support for the Global Fund’s life-saving work. That partnership continues this World AIDS Day.
For every purchase made with Apple Pay at an Apple Store, in the Apple Store app or on apple.com, Apple is donating 5 USD to the Global Fund. Now until 7 December.*
The global effort to end AIDS has made remarkable progress. Thanks to increased access to life-saving medications, AIDS-related deaths have fallen by 70 per cent since their peak in 2004, and new HIV infections among children have declined by more than 60 per cent since 2010.
“This year, we’ve seen the first approval of a long-lasting HIV prevention, along with other tools and innovations that could save millions of lives,” says Luisa Engel, chief strategy and impact officer at (RED). But the fight is far from over. Key population groups remain disproportionately impacted. Every week, 4,000 adolescent girls and young women become infected with HIV, with 3,300 of these infections in sub-Saharan Africa.
“(RED) has always been the colour of emergency, and we meet the challenge by sounding the alarm and raising life-saving cash for the AIDS fight,” Engel says.
*Until 7 December, 2025, Apple will donate 5 USD for every purchase made with Apple Pay at an Apple Store, in the Apple Store app or on apple.com. Donations are limited to a maximum of three million dollars (3,000,000 USD). The donation goes to the Fund for the Global Fund, a U.S. charity, to fight AIDS and help fund critical health programmes that save lives.
