The Samsung Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra lined up

Samsung’s S24 Series is ushering in a new era of mobile AI—and looking good doing it! The sleek designs and eye-catching colors are sure to garner some doubletakes, while the on-board tech is being called "revolutionary". We'll delve into all the powerful new features and key specs, comparing processors, displays, designs, batteries, storage, cameras, updates and more—so you can decide which phone is the perfect fit.

While there are key differences between each device, there are many advanced features standard on all three phones. So, let's start there!

Galaxy S24 vs. S24+ vs. S24 Ultra

Shared Features

All three devices boast Samsung’s newest and fastest processor yet: the ultra-powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, custom made for Samsung Galaxy phones. Now you can seamlessly switch between apps, enjoy your favorite content, and game like never before without worrying about your device getting too hot to handle. That's because the improved cooling system keeps each phone's thermals low, without sacrificing on performance.

In addition, the S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra each comes with Samsung’s newest Android 14 software experience on board, boasting new widgets, fonts, notification options and security capabilities.

Each stunning phone features your choice of black, gray, violet or yellow. Meanwhile, a titanium shell with the same color options makes its debut on the S24 Ultra (more on that later).

All three boast super-sleek and super-tough designs, brighter, bigger-feeling screens and heavy-duty Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2—so these phones are ready to take on just about anything you can throw at them.

Galaxy AI Debut

The introduction of Samsung's Galaxy AI is a first on the S24 series—and it has everyone talking. While AI will make its way to other Galaxy phones in the future, these epic new artificial intelligence capabilities are available here and now on the S24s! So, get ready to take your mobile experiences to new heights, no matter which S24-series phone you choose. For example, you can now:

  • Circle to Search with Google. Just circle (highlight, scribble, or tap) to pinpoint any image, video, or text on your screen, no screenshots required. For example, say you run across a great outfit, or a fascinating building, or a delicious-looking meal—just circle it to search for information about it on Google.
  • Translate on the fly. Speak or text up to 13 foreign languages on-the-go via the Samsung Phone app with Live Translate, which offers near-real-time, two-way voice and text translations.
  • Take notes effortlessly. Take notes and let Note Assist do the rest, including summarizing, formatting and even translating notes for you.
  • Chat like never before. The new Chat Assist feature gives you real-time tone suggestions, whether your goal is to sound more conversational or more professional. Plus, it also takes care of any annoying typos.
  • Turn your memories into masterpieces. Thanks to Generative Edit, now you can move or remove objects in your photos, fill empty space and more. Each phone also offers high-resolution cameras with natural, true-to-life color.

7 Years of Security/OS Updates

Another cool thing about the S24s? Samsung is promising seven years of Android and security updates—that'll have you covered until 2031! That meets or beats the competition's and also beats out the coverage initially offered on the S23 series by a few years.

Now that we've got your attention, let take a closer look at each individual S24-series phone so you can find the right fit for you. We'll start with the crème de la crème of the lineup: the S24 Ultra.

Who will love the S24 Ultra the most?

The Ultra is a powerhouse when it comes to just about everything: looks, size, camera capabilities, storage, battery, and more. Whether you're a serious multitasker, photographer, gamer, content creator, or you just want the best of the best, you'll gravitate toward the Galaxy S24 Ultra for its massive display and amazing 200MP camera that delivers clear, vivid pictures, even from far away. It's the only one with Nightography Zoom, which lets you capture clear imagery regardless of darkness or distance. This phone also has the most battery power of the three: 5,000mAh. But the coolest feature? The ever-popular S Pen. If you crave the pen-to-paper feeling that only a super-advanced stylus can offer—the S24 Ultra is for you. Also unique to the Ultra is the stunning new titanium shell. As you probably gathered, the S24 Ultra will cost more than both the S24 and S24+. However, it may be more than worth it if you feel the S Pen, sleek titanium look, and all the extra bells and whistles are non-negotiable. Next up is the S24+.

Who will love the S24+ the most?

The S24+ is a pretty amazing phone packed with features that are more than enough for even the most avid device guru. It falls right in the middle of the series in terms of size and capabilities. The S24+ features a sleek aluminum shell instead of titanium and—while the display is an impressive 6.7"—it's still a tad smaller than the S24 Ultra, which may or may not be a good thing depending on your personal preferences. You'll also get a powerful 4,900mAh battery, but it's not quite as powerful as the Ultra's 5,000mAh. The quad camera setup on the S24+ is impressive by just about anyone's standards, but if you're looking for 5-camera capabilities and laser-sharp nighttime zoom, like those offered on the S24 Ultra, you're out of luck. The S24+ has fewer storage options than the Ultra and it does not come with an S Pen or a titanium shell, so if those are things you absolutely must have, you may want to stick with the Ultra. If not, the S24+ is still a larger-than-life phone that's packed with an impressive array of bells and whistles. Now, let's move on to the S24.

Who will love the S24 the most?

The S24 is the most entry-level of the pack, with a much smaller screen than both the S24+ and S24 Ultra. But it's perfect if you want a device that's lighter, easier to handle and doesn't take up a lot of space in your purse or pocket. If you don't need a ton of extra storage and your phone generally makes it through the day without the need for constant charging, the storage and battery power may be plenty for you. While the camera is the same as the S24+, it's not as impressive as the one on the S24 Ultra—but again—if you're not a serious photographer or influencer, this one will more-than do the trick. Absolutely need a stylus? This one's not for you, as only the Ultra has the S Pen included. Same goes if you prefer that new titanium shell that only the Ultra can offer. But if you can live without that and a few other bells and whistles, the S24 is still packed with impressive features—and it's the least pricey of the three.

Below is a quick and easy breakdown of which phone may be a better fit based on your needs:

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is a great fit if you:

  • Love the pen-to-paper feeling that only the Ultra's exclusive S Pen can deliver.
  • Have to have that new titanium shell.
  • Crave an ultra-big display (6.8").
  • Need the most powerful, feature-packed camera available.
  • Tend to blow through a lot of storage and battery power.
  • Have a bigger budget and don't mind paying more for premium features.

The Galaxy S24+ is a great fit if you:

  • Don't really care about an S Pen or a titanium frame.
  • Are okay with a little less-sophisticated camera capabilities than a professional photographer or influencer would need.
  • Need a display that's a lot larger than the S24, but a little smaller than the S24 Ultra.
  • Prefer a step-up from the entry-level model, but don’t need all the extras that the Ultra offers.

The Galaxy S24 is a great fit if you:

  • Prefer a lighter phone and smaller display (6.2").
  • Don't care about titanium or the S Pen.
  • Are generally okay with less storage and RAM.
  • Usually get through the day without burning through battery power.
  • Love taking pictures but don't need extra-fancy camera features.
  • Want to keep your budget in check.

When you're ready to pick your new Samsung phone, be sure to take advantage of the latest deals and offers. Still undecided?
