Stephanie is Counsel in the Dispute Resolution group.

She specialises in construction and engineering disputes with a particular focus in the residential and hospitality sector, as well as the infrastructure and energy sector.

Stephanie specialises in disputes concerning defective work, delay, cost overrun, termination and insolvency under all forms of construction contracts (both standard and bespoke).

Stephanie has significant experience of High Court trials, including the Court of Appeal and applications to the Supreme Court. She also regularly advises clients in adjudication, arbitration and expert determination. Stephanie also provides dispute prevention and risk management advice to a variety of stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of a project.

  • Acting for a Local Authority in the TCC on a c.£130m multi-party dispute concerning internal and external fire safety defects and associated remedial works at five high rise tower blocks on an estate in London.
  • Acting for a main contractor in the TCC and Court of Appeal on a leading case concerning the interpretation of payment notices, the provisions concerning liquidation damages and the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 following the construction of a hotel at Heathrow Terminal 4.
  • Advising a JV partner on a c.£40m dispute concerning significant delays and overspend under the building contract relating to the refurbishment of a 26-storey building in London. This also involved advising on satellite disputes within the JV under the JV agreement.
  • Acting for a registered provider in an arbitration defending a c.£600k claim from its main contractor under a JCT (D&B) 2011 with bespoke amends for the costs of a sewer diversion.
  • Advising in the pre-action stage on potential causes of action following the discovery of defective bearings on a bascule lifting bridge.
