Analyse

We collect a wide range of data about the Internet including IP addresses, network prefixes, BGP and routing data. Our data can be accessed using our suite of Internet measurement tools.

RIPE Atlas: Access Real Time Data

RIPE Atlas can be used to monitor network visibility from thousands of vantage points around the globe, investigate and troubleshoot network issues, check the responsiveness of DNS infrastructure, check IPv6 connectivity, and much more. Learn how network operators, researchers and regular users have benefitted from RIPE Atlas.

Our Internet Measurement Tools and Services

Here is a comprehensive overview of the Internet measurement tools and services offered by the RIPE NCC.

RIPE Atlas

RIPE Atlas is a global network that measures Internet connectivity and reachability, providing an unprecedented understanding of the state of the Internet in real time.

RIPE Atlas

RIPEstat

RIPEstat provides everything you ever wanted to know about IP address space, Autonomous System Numbers, and related information for hostnames and countries in one place.

Routing Information System (RIS)

Our Routing Information Service (RIS) collects and stores Internet routing data from several locations around the world.

RIS

RIPE IPmap

RIPE IPmap is an API that maps core Internet infrastructure by providing geolocation data for Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), transit providers, and routers within autonomous systems.

RIS Live

RIS Live is a feed that offers BGP messages in real-time. It collects information from the RIS Route Collectors (RRCs) and uses a WebSocket JSON API to monitor and detect routing events around the world. A non-interactive full stream ("firehose") is also available.

DNSMON

DNS Monitoring Service (DNSMON) is an active measurement service that provides a comprehensive, objective and up-to-date overview of the quality of the service offered by high-level Domain Name System (DNS) servers.

IXP Country Jedi (Alpha)

The IXP Country Jedi provides visualisations of Internet traffic paths (traceroutes) between RIPE Atlas probes located in the same country to answer the following questions: Do the target paths take out-of-country detours? Do we see IXPs in the paths?

Internet Traffic Maps

Get comprehensive insights into Internet measurements and performance data with interactive maps showing DNS root instances, root server performance, RTT to fixed destinations, comparative DNS root RTT and reachability.

DNS

The RIPE NCC operates two independent DNS services. Both of these are provided by distributed nodes using IPv4 and IPv6 anycast.

The first service is K-root, one of the 13 Internet root name servers.

The second is Authoritative DNS (AuthDNS), which hosts reverse DNS zones, ripe.net, e164.arpa and some other infrastructure zones, and provides secondary DNS for various ccTLDs.
