I have an x100v that I attach to my backpack with a capture clip and the included standard plate. I know that the plate is ARCA compatible so I can use with third party tripods. I'm considering purchasing the SmallRig L shaped handgrip + base plate for my x100v. It has a built in ARCA type quick release system as well. So can I attach it directly to the capture clip? Or do I need to attach the PD standard plate to it?
Wondering if the 10L’s laptop sleeve would be wide enough to stow a Steam Deck in it. Anyone can help with this query?
I'm interested in getting a capture clip, and wanted to use it on my messenger bag/cross body bag, but I noticed that with all the reviews, they use it on a backpack only. Has anyone tried using a capture clip for a DSLR camera on something like a messenger bag or a crossbody bag? Any difficulty removing the camera from the clip? Any shift in position of the bag with all that weight on it?
Any idea if this is ever coming out? And if not, can I please get everyone’s opinion on whether or not V2 is still worth it in 2024 especially with the premium price point?
I see a lot of people hesitating on V2 since it’s been around 5 years since it was released.. Are we truly getting our money’s worth in 2024?
As I look at other threads, seems like Peak Design has no plans on releasing a V3 so maybe a better question is, what are better alternatives to the V2? What is the best everyday tech backpack in 2024? Any competitors that you can suggest? Or any other companies that have more recent and better products?
Thank you!
hi there! I am looking to potentially purchase the peak aluminum tripod. I have 3 basic questions. 1. Will it fit inside the water bottle holder of the Peak 20L bag? 2. does it come with an attachment to easily snap in my camera? 3. does it come with anything to take remote photos? if not, i have a sony a7iii, does anyone know if i can take remote photos from the imaging edge app? thanks so much!
Hey, did someone found a solution to attach the peak capture clip v2 on a hiking backpack? The straps are way too think and wide to attach the clip. I have an osprey atmos 65L. Thanks!
Hey,
I'm currently in the market for a new backpack. I've used a Decathlon rolltop backpack (20l) primarily for grocery shopping and basically stuffed everything in there.
Can the Totepack also be used for this when the dividers are taken out, or is it more for everyday carry?
And would it also be comfortable for taking camera equipment on walks/hikes?
My ideal method is with GoRuck pack or my Camelbak Sparta which both have a strip of 1 inch webbing sewn on the shoulder strap, mainly used for the sternum strap adjustment. I thread the capture clip through and all good, and the Capture Clip never touches my skin as it sits ON the strap.
Many backpacks come with a "sliding channel" for the sternum strap (like most Osprey). Is the only solution I need to sandwich the strap with the Capture Clip? I really want to avoid this as with heavier weights in the bag I want the foam on my skin, not a metal clip. Or the strap is really thick and the clip isn't going to fit.
I note Shimoda Designs Urban series have a strap specifically for the Capture Clip (and equivalents)... but I am wondering if there are any other solutions.
It would be awesome! I’ve found that all black is a little boring and sad but that’s just a personal preference. What do you think?
I looked at my Apple and Anker adapters, both of them have a 9V/2.22A output. (9V * 2.22A = 20W)
The webpage for the Qi2 charging stand says:
Input: Min 20W (12V 1.67A) for optimal power delivery
This is also 20W but at a higher voltage and lower current than the adapters I have.
Which adapter supports this standard? I assume the PD adapter does but are there others from reputable brands (most only say 20W without mentioning the voltage and current)?
What happens if I use a 9V/2.22A adapter? Would it charge slower, or heat up more? How significant would it be?
I need to make some anchor links for a custom application... Does anyone know what gauge the nylon that fits through the lugs is?
Where can I buy some?
Thanks if you're alive to help!
Can Peak Design Sling 3L fit my Sony A7rii with Samyang 35mm f2.8 plus an additional Sony 55mm f1.8?
I want to use this as my travel bag, in addition to the camera gear I'll be carrying my passport, AirPods, flyers/maps/other papers and wallet in the sling bag.
I have a Billingham Hadley Pro, but I find it too big to carry on trips, so I'm looking for something compact.
Hello - I expect there are already threads on this but some searching didn't turn them up. Apologies if I should have searched more. I have the original PD capture clip - not sure how long it's been, but pretty sure it was when they first came out. I see there is a V3 - so probably there was also a V2. Can someone tell me how they've changed since the original?
They are obviously not inexpensive, so I'd rather not get another if the difference is minimal.
I'm also wondering if the cuff has changed since first released. As I recall, it was quite small and difficult to get on and off quickly.
Thanks!
I absolutely love the design of the totepack but my main concern is how much space there would be for my laptop/mech keyboard + water bottle for the office days and general short hiking trips. I was wondering if anyone had similar use cases
Just got a Skywatcher mini to do some light astrophotography. But of course I'm missing some mounts and adapters. I have a extra baseplate for my tripod but the star tracker is a 3/8 hole.
If anyone has a ball joint recommendation as well I'm all ears.
Hi! I recently bought new iPhone 15 case (love it) and I'm looking for a tripod that is MagSafe / SimLink suitable to zoom calls. The that PeakDesign sells is too short to capture video on eye level.
