The price is going up, but you'll get a bit more hotspot data for the extra cash.

AT&T Unlimited Plan subscribers are going to be paying more starting in March.

AT&T plans to raise the rates of its Unlimited Plans by $0.99 per line, per month, CNET reports. The company started sending out notifications of the increase to customers over the weekend. The actual price increase begins on March 5.

For new customers, the updated pricing is already in effect, as are the new names for the company’s unlimited plans.

AT&T’s “Unlimited Starter” plan has been updated to “Unlimited Starter SL” and now includes 5GB of hotspot data rather than 3GB. The company’s middle tier has been renamed from “Unlimited Extra” to “Unlimited Extra EL” and doubles its offering of 15GB of hotspot data to 30GB. AT&T’s “Unlimited Premium” plan has been rebranded to “Unlimited Premium PL” and comes with 60GB of hotspot data, a comparatively modest increase from the 50GB of hotspot data previously offered under the plan.

Unlimited subscribers are also able to use their devices in the Dominican Republic at no additional charge.

AT&T is rebranding its “Value Plus” plan to “Value Plus VL” as well as increasing its price by $0.99. That plan can now support up to 10 lines; however, it does not include any hotspot data.

While price increases are obviously not ideal, these thankfully come with a bit of added value. The increases also represent the first price increase for these respective plans since they were introduced to AT&T’s portfolio in 2020.
