Commerce Guidelines

Products, services, and benefits offered on Patreon must comply with our Community Guidelines and these Commerce Guidelines. Do not do anything illegal. Our policies are designed with our global audience of fans and creators in mind; they aren't tied to local laws. As a result, fans and creators are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations when using Patreon. Failure to comply with our policies may result in a variety of consequences. If you repeatedly post products, services, or benefits that violate our policies, we may take additional action on your account. We reserve the right to reject, approve, or remove any product, service, or benefit for any reason at any time, at our sole discretion and we'll report accounts and content to law enforcement if necessary.

Appeals Process and Refunds

Learn how to appeal a policy decision by visiting the Help Center.

Our Refund Policy provides guidelines for how fans who have made purchases through Patreon can seek refunds and how creators should accommodate refund requests.

How We Enforce These Policies

We enforce our policies on products, services, and benefits offered on Patreon's platform, as well as products, services, and benefits that may be purchased through Patreon but are delivered or received off platform.

For the safety of our community, any product, service, or benefit sold or offered on Patreon needs to have a listing that clearly describes the item being sold, including how it will be accessed, downloaded, or delivered. Failure to list a product, service or benefit with adequate detail may result in removal of violating works or other adverse actions on a creator's account.

Fans and creators may not buy, sell, or offer alcohol, tobacco products, or related paraphernalia.

2. Drugs, Prescription Products, and Supplements

3. Financial Products, Services, and Benefits

Fans and creators may not buy, sell, or offer financial products or investment schemes or opportunities.

Note: It is the sole responsibility of fans and creators who share any financial information on Patreon to ensure such information is compliant with any and all applicable laws and regulations. Patreon is not responsible for verifying, validating, or monitoring financial information for legal and regulatory compliance and any financial activity undertaken as a result of financial information found or received through Patreon is done at the sole discretion of the party who undertakes such financial action.

4. Food and Health

5. Gambling, Raffles, and Sweepstakes

Fans and creators may not use Patreon to access, provide, or facilitate gambling for money or an exchange of value, including digital currencies. Gambling activities include betting, lotteries, raffles, casinos and casino games, fantasy sports wagers, bingo, poker, or sweepstakes.

Creators interested in celebrating and rewarding their fans can always create a higher tier level with rewards for a limited number of fans. Creators can also offer surprises for fans to celebrate special moments like an annual anniversary of supporting a creator.

Creators may offer giveaways, but creators are responsible for ensuring any giveaway is available to all fans and complies with any and all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

6. Gift Cards, Vouchers, Coupons, and Crowdfunding

Fans and creators may not buy, sell, or offer gift cards, vouchers, coupons, or crowd funding, generally. Nor may they buy, sell, or offer these or any other incentives to purchase, obtain, or acquire products, services, or benefits prohibited by these policies.

7. Intellectual Property, Copyrights, and Trademarks

Products, services, or benefits offered on Patreon may not infringe upon or violate the intellectual property rights of any third party, including copyright or trademark. Additional information can be found here.

8. Recalled Products

For the safety of our community, fans and creators may not buy, sell, or offer products that have been recalled.
