Great sounding Concert uke, but there are 2 different versions of the 15CM. Fretboard not straight at 14th fret.

Great sounding Concert uke, but there are 2 different versions of the 15CM. Fretboard not straight at 14th fret.
Mixed feelings on the 15CM. Was looking to buy 2 ukes.I bought 4 15CM's trying to find a good one and it was an interesting experience. First bought 1 through amazon, then 2 more, and than 1 more from a local shop.First, there are 2 versions of the 15CM going around that are quite different. I received both versions from different amazon sellers, and also checked stock at a local retailer that had both versions in their inventory. I had 2 of each in my possession for a while trying to determine which, if any to keep. One version has a natural finish, a slightly longer scale (nut to saddle is around 15.25"), is very lightweight, uses a kerfed lining, had very sharp fret edges, a flat top nut. This one seemed to have the most pleasant sound, but biggest quality issues. Very balanced sound but almost a little thin, good resonance, some subtle overtones. Great for chord strumming and picking in the lower to mid frets. The other version is the darker finish, shorter neck scale 14.75", solid lining, noticeably heavier, had much better fret finishing work, used a different nut. Nice sound, but a little different than the others. I'd say a bit less resonant, slightly less balanced, sound was tighter and focused on the soundhole area, whereas the other natural version has more a full body resonance. (these are what I received from this specific listing)The labels and logo varied slightly, but both were definitely authentic. Maybe different facilities, or production dates.Every 15CM I got and saw has a very noticeable angle change of the fretboard where the neck joint is. This is problematic if any setup work is desired and lowering the saddle at all will cause issues with the strings hitting the frets and you'll get some dead notes around fret 13 and some of them have strings hitting the frets at fret 14/15 when fretting a note up there. At first I thought it was just one that slipped through quality control, but after purchasing 3 more and going to look at a store I saw all the 15CMs are like this.As a guitar player for 25+ years this would be a huge issue on guitar, but I don't expect to be playing up in those frets on the ukulele much.THE GOODThe sound is really nice. Good price at around $80. Fret finishing was good on this specific version.THE BADConfusing with 2 different versions. Sharp unfiled fret corners on every fret on the natural finish version (not this listing). Fretboard not straight on any of them. Angle changes significantly at the 14th fret where the neck meets the body. Cordoba just tries to bend and glue the fingerboard to the body instead of adding more neck material under the fingerboard to allow it to continue the plane.I also purchased a Lanikai LU-22, on sale for $80 which I liked. Overall quality is better and sound is nice. Similar sound to the dark finish 15CM.Note: I did email Cordoba 2 weeks ago but have not received any response. In the end I kept one of the Natural finish versions, as I thought these sounded the best personally and I did about 30 minutes of filing on all the fret edges and the sharp corners were fixed. I also kept the Lanikai. For $70 this version is a great deal and a great uke. Just give it a good inspection and see if the notes are dead around fret 13,14,15.
