Power cutoff button is defective and doesn't stay engaged.
Saw other users experienced the same problem. I ordered a second switch and hope I don't have the same issue. I believe this is a design flaw that Belkin/WeMo should investigate.

So far it has been good, haven't dropped off at all from my apple homekit/thread network and everytime my homepod goes off or was power outage, it reconnected super quickly! (I think there was a firmware update when I initially installed it, make sure you do it), the setup via matter code was super easy, installation isnt' the best experience as these smart swithes are bulky and hard to get into the wall, but not terrible tbh, and I don't like slow wifi smart switches that can overwhelm your wifi in the house, there is genuinly faster response with thread network and it is noticable especially if you plan to setup automations such as contact sensor door opening triggering the lights.

Another important factor is flickering as dimmers for LEDs effectively need to oscillate the electricity at high speed off and on (with more "off" than "on" to dim), and if they are not well designed, they will flicker, or at lower dim values the light will flicker (this also kinda depends on your light bulbs too, so make sure you get decent quality one) I bought the best rated ones in Amazon with this switch and so far it has been super reliable, I also like that it is well tuned (between 0% to 100%) vs Kasa or few other dimmers that basically max out at 50-60% and even after tuning via Kasa app they are not well tuned and don't transition smoothly from 0-100%.

It is just a bit expensive, but good quality and looks great and is thread!

It often happens that it stops responding.

Switch in the bottom is opposite of intuitive in my opinion.

Scan and add doesn’t work, you have to type in the setup code manually.

Their app doesn’t support their devices. It works exclusively with HomeKit.

This is by far the worst smart home product I was working with. I will remove all of it and try to get a refund.

I am usually an Elgato Eve buyer but since (as of 01/2023) they do not sell a proper dimmer switch in the US, I decided to look at the Wemo option.

I also wanted a switch with thread as I have the latest Apple TV & HomePod Mini as well as a couple other thread accessories so it would join a reliable mesh. Note that although this switch has THREAD it probably will never be part of the MATTER standard. Since I’m pretty much exclusively an Apple HomeKit user this didn’t really mean anything to me since this already integrates well with HomeKit.

All of that out of the way, I found this switch to be fantastic! It was very easy to install (although, like pretty much all smart switches it is very fat and sort of has to be crammed into most junction boxes which is a bit annoying, but that’s not exclusive to this switch). It performs lightning quick! Far, far more responsive than the older non-thread Bluetooth smart switches that I have. Adding to HomeKit was seamless and easy. I just installed it recently, so I can’t comment on any potential intermittent disconnection problems that may arise but again with this being thread compatible I don’t expect it to be a big issue in my experience.

Some users complained about the wiring install. I agree that wrapping the wires around the screws would be very difficult, but for me plugging directly into the back worked perfectly and was fairly easy. My home was built in 2020 so was built to the latest building codes (included neutral wire etc) so YMMV, but I really don’t see how this switch is any different from others. If you have never installed these sorts of things before, I also highly recommend buying a “wiggy” or some sort of non contact electrical meter so that you can easily identify the load vs line wires.

Now the only negative. At the current price of $55-60, I do find that to be just a bit too high for what it is. I anticipate this will fall over time to $45-50 which is a little more fair, but at these price levels I think you should only buy this is you are a really big techie like me. If you’re more casual or just looking for a great smart dimmer switch, I would look at cheaper options.

Overall A+! Very happy!

I have owned wemos since 2014. I have over 50 in my home that are operated through the wemo app. I have many rules for weekdays and weekends. This new dimmer run on Thread does not work on the app. I have the option of renaming and moving all of my wemos to Apple Homekit and losing all of my rules or I can have just this wemo dimmer on the homekit and every other wemo on the app. Had I known this was the case I would not have purchased it and paid to have an electrician install. Extremely disappointed that wemo has chosen to manufacture devices that are not supported on their very own app.

This probably works fine on incandecant lights, but I tried to use it on a LED fixture and even in the "Off" position the light stayed on just very dim.

I suspect this may be a result of the unit not requiring a neutral, so it draws it's power through the light fixture.

I have been using Z-Wave devices in our home since 2016. With the release of the THREAD standard, I wanted to try out this new technology. I purchased two of these dimmer switches for the vanity and bath lights in the master. I also purchased an EVE brand THREAD capable motion sensor. I set the lights to turn on at a given brightness between 5AM and 9AM and a lower dimmer setting between 4pm and 9pm. Moving from Z-wave to Thread looks to be a good decision, the lights are very responsive to the motion detected by the EVE sensor with the added benefit with THREAD, that no internet access is required for interaction between the devices. Internet is of course still required for remote control. Now, I believe I will wait for the prices on the switches to drop as more manufacturers start producing THREAD capable devices.

Wemo quality and reliability. One thing that should be made a little clearer is that this generation of switch is not controllable with the Wemo app.

I have to power cycle this thing once a month otherwise it looses its connection randomly. I’ve had much better luck with the Eve smart switches.
