great for cleaning my burr grinder when it gets oily or gummed up. make sure your hopper is nice and clean before you dump these in there; the fine dust in each packet will stick all over every surface that has coffee oils on it, and is difficult to remove. I found you can use less than an entire pack to achieve the desired results. The manual suggests you clean the grindz off of your burrs by grinding some coffee, but I always inevitably seem to have some dust stuck around. a good blast with canned air before running any coffee helped a lot!

pros - does a good job of cleaning the burrs in your espresso grinder. you can generally get away with using ~half a package per cleaning, unless you grind tons of dark/french roast coffee.

cons - there is a bunch of dust in each package and it usually takes more than just grinding some coffee to effectively clean the grindz residue of your machine. definitely overpriced once you realize how simple the product is.

Great for cleaning grinder

I have a Breville Barista Express Impress. The built-in grinder is difficult to get completely clean without taking it a part. There are several YouTube videos on the subject but the possibility of breaking something and voiding my warranty makes me nervous. This is a simpler solution. Once as clean as you can make the grinder, pour a packet of theses in and run them through the grinder. Clean the white powder as best you can. Then you have to sacrifice some of your fresh beans to completely clear the white powder. Have done it twice and am very satisfied.

I use these to help clean my OXO burr grinder, They are a bit messy and require some clean up and you must waste some beans to clear the hopper. Overall they do a good job. I highly recommend buying the larger amount, they are not in pre-measured packets but I think the value for money is much better.

I tried these tablets on my Mr. Coffee burr grinder. The cleaning really works! I’ve seen that some people use rice, but read too many horror stories against that method. The Mr. Coffee burr grinder does a great job, but you cannot take it apart far enough to get to the grinding mechanism to clean it. I hadn’t cleaned it in the two years I’ve had it until using these tablets.

This was super easy, fast, and thorough. After cleaning all the caked-on, oily gunk I could, I then used the tablets. Boy, was I surprised at all the dirt that was left. Those rancid oils eventually WILL affect your coffee’s taste, and I actually noticed a difference in mine afterward. I’ll do this a couple of times a year, which should be sufficient as I’m the only coffee drinker in the house. IMHO, consistently perfect java is worth this small investment!
